Volker Wines was recently featured at a dinner at the James Beard Foundation House in Manhattan, where guests enjoyed a five course tasting menu with wine pairings. Chef Curtis Di Fede of Miminashi in Napa, California prepared a Japanese Izakaya style feast, which began with our Von Donabaum Grüner Veltliner 2016 and otoshi in the garden. Guests then transitioned to the dining room for a sashimi course, paired with our Volker Wein Grüner Veltliner 2016. It was an honor to be featured at the James Beard House, and we look forward to hopefully returning in the future!
Von Donabaum Grüner Veltliner 2016 - 91 Points by Wine Enthusiast
Long days in the summer sun pair nicely with wine. Find an exceptional bottle and have some extra money left over for summer activities...or more wine.
Von Donabaum Grüner Veltliner 2016, This wine leads with lovely touch of flint, accentuating its green pear and lemon zest aromas. On the palate, it’s light and dry, with a phenolic character that lends both texture and structure, adding complexity to all the freshness. - Anne Krebiehl
